Our Story
How It All Started
The office of Robert B. Kreuter, OD was officially opened under Dr. Kreuter’s name on November 25, 1991, at 1334 Sheridan Drive, Lancaster, Ohio. Office equipment, some lab equipment, and most exam room equipment and instruments for one exam room was purchased from Roger Graybill, OD, whose practice was limited to referral vision therapy patients. Dr. Graybill had practiced at this location for three years and decided to discontinue practice and retire to South Carolina.

Dr. Kreuter added a complete dispensary with glasses and contact lenses. He also purchased much needed new exam equipment, increasing practice capability to include diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Vision therapy continued until office relocation in 1997.

On February 3, 1997, patient care was moved to a new location at 1222 N Memorial Drive. This office was a new structure with improvement primarily designed by Dr. Kreuter. The open design improved office flow, visibility and convenience.

On November 1, 2019, Dr. Hughes purchased the practice from Dr. Kreuter. The retiring doctor remained on staff part-time to help ensure the smooth transition of staff and patients. Starting in 2020, many improvements in the office began to take shape. Dr. Hughes updated the space from the ceilings, wall color to flooring. Also, she introduced new equipment to help better manage ocular disease and added new frame lines to provide more glasses options.
As patient care continued to increase, Dr. Hughes outgrew the space. March 1, 2024, she moved the practice to its current location of 2682 Kull Road. With a modern design, the new office offers more examination lanes for patient care, a private optical for shopping, and more staff to better serve your eye health needs.
